Online Training – Mid-life Career Changes

A mid-life career change can be a scary thing if you're not sure what to expect. I've been there myself. After 25 years in the gift-ware industry, I retired to look for a new career. I turned to something completely different, yet unique and valuable for the times we live in: Internet Marketing.

When I first graduated college and started my first career, there was no Internet. This is a new and viable career that is growing by leaps and bounds everyday, yet still in its infancy, to assure that it will see enormous growth without overcrowding. This is the perfect time for a career such as this.

If you love blogging, social networking, ecommerce, online videos and search engines, there is money to be made in every one of these fields. And you are never too old to learn a trade like this. Unlike some new careers, mid-life people have to watch that a new job doesn't entail much physical activity. High stress careers such as law or medicine and high activity jobs such as the Postal service, would be out of the question for folk over 45. Marketing and the Internet are perfect choices for mature individuals who have an entire lifetime of knowledge to contribute.

Check us out to see if this is the career for you!

Laid Off? Looking For A New Career?

You could have a chance at a completely different career: one that is in high demand and not being outsourced overseas. One that is growing everyday and exciting to work at.

Internet marketing is one of the fastest growing career fields on the job market today.Companies large and small need skilled people just like you to help run their ecommerce and websites. Every business has a website these days just to keep up on the competition. What they don't have, is enough people with the special training to keep their operations running smoothly.

This may be the career for you. If you have lost your job, what do you have to lose? You can create your own home-based business or get a high paying  job with a company that needs you now… or both! Check out all we have to offer and see whether Internet marketing is right for you!

CD and Product Creation Myths De-Bunked

Myth 1: You have to go to a studio and pay big hourly fees to create a decent CD

Tom's Response: I have only done one CD project in a studio. It worked out just fine and wasn't really that expensive in the long run. I think it cost about $40.00 per hour for a digital studio in someone's basement. If you practice before you get there you can save lots of time and money.

The rest of my CDs have been recorded in my office using my own equipment, or by the company providing the phone service when I was doing a telephone seminar. When necessary, I edited the recordings right on my personal computer with inexpensive software.

Myth 2: You must have music on the tape and make it sound like Nightingale Conant to be successful with CDs.

Tom's Response: For years my audio tapes and CDs did not have music on them. They were completely informational and sold around the world with virtually zero returns. Now, it's so easy to put music on I go ahead and do it just to increase the production value.

Myth 3: You need four-color packaging and lots of expensive graphics so the product looks professional.

Tom's Response: I make my packaging look as good as I can, but I never spend big money on graphics. About the most I've ever spent is $85.00 for an artist to draw a color picture for me which I scanned and used both on the web as an advertisement for the product and on the cover of the product.

Social Networking – Buttons To Make Marketing Easier

What kind of buttons? These are the buttons you see all the time on people's websites saying “Digg This”, “Follow me on Twitter” and “Join Me On Facebook.”

Where do people get these buttons? How can they help your online business?

On most social networks, social bookmarking sites and microblogging sites like Twitter, you can find a link that will say “Tools and widgets.” On these pages the website provides the codes that you simply copy and paste into your website or blog. They will give you a number of options on what kind of graphics or button styles to choose from. These are direct links to your particular accounts that your friends and followers can visit in one click.

A widget is even better. It will show your tweets, facebook friends and updates and even your published articles on Ezinearticles.com in real time. As your social sites are updated, they refresh automatically. And they are not complicated to install. It is simply a code to copy and paste that the site provides for you.

If you want to get really fancy, you can create a graphic in Photoshop with your company logo, and just embed a link to your profile in the image. This is a lot easier than it sounds and helps with branding, especially with Facebook Fan Pages.

How can this help your business? Easy.

These widgets and buttons help drive traffic to your accounts. Your visitors can stay updated on all of your tweets, articles and videos in one glance. The Digg.com button helps you get valuable “diggs” on submitted websites. Your friends may not even be aware that you have an account at a particular service and now they can network with you further by clicking straight out to your profile and becoming friends. You can build up Twitter followers with your “follow me” button without having to search and follow other people first. These buttons are meant to make your social networking easier. Time is valuable. Use these fun applications to network with others without being online all the time.

Social Media Revolution – Youtube Channels

Youtube is the fastest growing video hosting site in the world. The channels that Youtube provides its users can be a powerful marketing tool to show off your brand and help sell your products and services. Channels can easily be customized with special background images of yourself or your logos. You can use the channel to store all of your videos in one place where everyone can see them, make friends, build subscribers and collect comments.

Youtube channels provide clickable links to websites to help drive traffic to your websites from the millions of Youtube visitors each and every day. Businesses large and small are taking advantage of the power of Youtube and of online video. Some brands, such as the floundering Old Spice brand, found new life in comedy skits produced just for Youtube. The videos were so unique and funny that they went “viral,” meaning that people spread them and shared them around like wildfire, resulting in re-vitalized sales and market share for the brand.

Now as a result, many businesses are re-thinking their social networking strategies. And they are looking for people like you. People who know how to make huge strides in online marketing without costing too much. Where do you learn to be a Youtube marketing expert? Right here at the Internet Marketing Training Center. We can teach you to master your dreams….

Free Internet Traffic For Your Websites

Getting free traffic to your website is easier than you might think! There are so many avenues to traffic that it can feel like your standing in the middle of the highway… the information superhighway that is.

Let's go over just a few of ways that you can get traffic to website without spending a dime.

* Social networking – we all have heard about this by now. Major sites such as MySpace, Facebook and Twitter provide profiles that are searchable all over the Internet and can contain a number of valuable links to your websites. Over half a billion people are now members of social networking sites and the potential traffic stream is endless.

* Article sites – writing articles not only builds you and your business as the expert, the links you leave in the author's profile or resource box can help drive heavy traffic to your website from all over the Internet.

* Videos – free hosting sites such as YouTube and Revver not only let your searchers meet you face to face, leaving a link to your website in the profiles and even in the video itself as a watermark can help send valuable prospects your way.

* Leaving your URL in the comments boxes of other peoples blogs, social networking profiles and forums will let people easily click on your site to see what your business is all about.

* Discussion boards – There are hundreds of discussion boards on every subject under the sun all over the Internet. This is a great place not only to leave a link to your site, but also engage other readers and ask or answer questions about a subject that makes you the expert!

* Traffic exchanges – an exchange is a service that lets you click on a certain number of URLs in exchange for others clicking on yours. You can earn credits just by clicking on sites and trade them in for free ad space.

* Free classifieds – search for these free classifieds and you'll find amazingly that there are quite a few you can utilize. A site like Craigslist is an example.

In the old days of the Internet, you had to rely on getting good search positioning to get any traffic at all. But using these short cuts to driving traffic to your site will accelerate visits and make big potential money.

ISP, DNS and More…The Basics

Here is another one for all of you newbies.  Just some basic information to help you understand the Internet.

What is an ISP?  They are companies that give you an email address and access to the Internet.

What is a Web Hosting Service?  This is a place that has one or many computers that store your website and make it available to the Internet.  Your website is housed on a web server, which is basically a specialized computer.

What is an IP Address?  Just as our homes have addresses to make it easy for our family and friends to find us, each machine on the Internet has a specific address.  This is an IP address.  It is represented by a series of numbers and dots.

For most of us, it is hard to remember a long series of numbers.  It is easier to remember domain names, such as Google.com .  Sometimes an IP address will change.  Domain names work even if the server's numeric IP address changes.  This is why we use domain names to represent the IP address of servers.

What is DNS?  This stands for Domain Name Server.  It is the central directory for the Internet.  It directs traffic to the appropriate servers for the different functions of a domain, such as mail.  DNS converts the domain name to the IP numbers so your computer can find the servers needed to display your website, blog or email.  DNS ensures that people can find your website, etc.

Camtasia – Awesome Software

Have you ever come across an awesome computer program that when you use it, you say “this is awesome”. Camtasia is a program that I always say is “awesome”. Camtasia can record anything that is on your computer screen. It actually creates videos of what you are doing on your computer. You see the mouse moving, text typing, websites loading, anything you want. It also records audio. In the video that Camtasia creates, you can hear mouse clicks, sounds that are playing on your computer, and the sound of your voice that's recorded from a microphone you speak into. Can you imagine all the possibilities you can have with a program like this? You could record the steps to uploading a picture to Facebook, then put that video up on Youtube, and have people pay you to watch it. That's right, you could charge people to watch your video. With Camtasia, you could offer consulting to customers. If they have a question about how to order your product, you could create a Camtasia video that shows them exactly how to do that. There are just so many ways to use Camtasia, I could go on forever.

If you've never used Camtasia before, try it out. Click here if you need training on how to use Camtasia to make money online.
